The investigation continues into the death of a 46-year-old man who took a fatal plunge at Citi Field during the Dead & Company concert Friday night, police reported.
Cops said the man apparently took the tumble from a balcony during the performance at about 9:05 p.m. on Aug. 20 at the Mets home ballpark, located off the corner of 126th Street (Seaver Way) and Roosevelt Avenue.
Officers from the 110th Precinct [1] stationed at the stadium found the man with "injuries consistent with a fall from an elevated position."
EMS rushed the victim to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens hospital in Flushing, where he died a short time later. Police have withheld his identity, pending family notification.
Published reports [2] indicated that the victim may have been intoxicated when he took the deadly fall.
Meanwhile, the Mets organization expressed remorse over the man's loss.
“We are aware of a tragic incident which sadly resulted in a fatality last night. Our deepest and heartfelt condolences go out to the attendee’s loved ones," the team said in a statement.
